Welcome To the Occupational Health and Safety in Canada - making sure they go home safe Blog.
This Blog will be introducing decisions whether through the courts, Legislation or arbitration dealing with Occupational Health and Safety of workers in Canada.
We will also discuss updates to legislation in Canada either at the Federal or Provincial Level.
In some cases, we will review incidents that have put in to question Occupational Standards as set out in law or maybe even suggest changes that would improve Occupational Health and Safety for workers in Canada.

In any business the safety and welfare of employees should be at the forefront of any workplace policies created and how the workplace operates. Legislation is the minimum standard, but Employers and employees need to do better than the minimum.
None of the comments made in this blog should be construed as legal advice, much of the commentary will be based on previous experience and/or actual decisions made in the courts, arbitration or OHS tribunals. Each employer's circumstances may be different and additional information should be obtained from a Health and Safety lawyer or Health and Safety Professional in your company.
